Breakfast in Rheinstein Castle

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This morning treat breaks the fasting mode your body went through while you were asleep. How about having it in a medieval castle?

We joined a self-guided tour of the Rheinstein Castle. You can read about it here. After the tour, we ate breakfast at the castle's Cafe Terrasse. The Hecher family (the family who takes care of the castle) prepared and served us our food.

Here is a view of the cafe from the castle's tower:

Our yummy breakfast. Not medieval at all, but it was good :)

I was thinking; how awesome would it be if the servers wore medieval costumes and served the food in medieval plates, cups, and utensils. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful morning meal. The breakfast was ordinary, but we had it in a castle up the hill which is a wonderful experience. You don't get to do that everyday.

Happy Tasty Tuesday!

  2. Lovely location, but that bland breakfast could have had a bit more pizzaz. :)
