Stefan's Wine Paradise

Location: Heerstrasse 5756329 Sankt GoarRhineland-PalatinateGermany
We joined the Rhine River Tour organized by RTT Travel (Ramstein Air Base). Rhine River is one of the largest and most important rivers in Europe. It flows from Switzerland, forming much of the border between Germany and France, into the Netherlands and to the North Sea.

Prior to the cruise, we went to Stefan's Wine Paradise for some wine tasting.

Stefan's shop has a nice display of wines, cuckoo clocks, Christmas ornaments, souvenirs, and photos.

Stefan, the fun and friendly owner, welcomed us with a smile and a tray with shot glasses of ice wine (German: eiswein). He made a short speech introducing us to his shop, services, and how wine is made. He just came from a wine tasting at Stuttgart but despite that he was able to accommodate us all in a cheerful way. Stefan ships wine to United States, and you even get wine as reimbursement for the shipping fee.

He later on gave us peach brandy to taste, stronger than ice wine but is really good. Next, he gave us a menu and asked us what else on the wine list we wanted to taste. We had the white chocolate and the strawberry flavor. The drinks both smelled and tasted great.

We were not obliged to buy anything but Stefan's wines are really good it's hard to leave his shop without buying a bottle. Some of our tour group mates bought bottles of wine and had them shipped to the States. We bought big bottles of ice wine and peach brandy. We got free glasses and a raffle ticket which won us a small Santa Claus lantern. Early Christmas present! Aside from those in the picture below, we also bought 2 big bottles of peach brandy for our parents :)

If you happen to be in the area, don't forget to stop by and try Stefan's wines. It will definitely be a highlight of your trip to Rhine.
