My 3 Unexpected Gifts

#1

I had a casual conversation with a stranger while aboard a plane. She was in business suit. I was wearing jeans and shirt. We talked about adventures and travel. When we reached our destination, she didn’t get out of the plane with the rest of us.

She shook my hand and discreetly handed me something by enclosing it in my palm and said,

“Thank you for your service.” That very moment it hit me. I realized whom I was talking with the whole time.

“Likewise, Ma’am.” I replied.

She is a US Federal Air Marshall.

A gift so small but so incredible

The manager of the store where we bought my pistol gave me these freebies so I have extras and can fire more:

All 5 of them, including the one in the magazine. Sweet.

I was late for the free “Dead Witness” eBook sign up, but to my surprise, the author herself said she would send me a copy. Thank you, Joylene Butler, for your kindness and generosity. I am enjoying the good read now. You rock!

A snapshot of my eBook copy

These are 3 unexpected gifts from 3 unexpected people. The first from someone I've met once and never know if I will ever see again. The second is from somebody I met for the first time. And the third is from someone I haven't met before and with whom I just had 2 email exchanges.

These gifts will always be treasured. Thank you.

  15. The unexpected gentle moment is so very welcome! Some days, it can turn my day around. And like the other commenter, I too try to spread the happy-generous wealth (no matter how financially strapped I am).

I don't know what a CO2 gun is used for. ?? I will get my lazy fingers to do a Google search!

  16. PS. I'd love to follow by email, but I can't find the little sign-up box. I saw it once, somewhere, then poof!, I haven't been able to find it again!

  20. That's so very cool. Love small significant moments like that. Each of those will not be soon forgotten. Having a story to go with an object, tends to transform it into something more.
